Disney on Ice...The Cure for the Unhappy Toddler
Wanna know how to take your sullen-faced toddler out of her saddened slump?
Well, first of all, DON'T leave the tickets to an exciting show she is eager to see back at your house an hour away. Waiting never makes for a happy kid.
But if you do make this mistake, DO send dad rushing across town to get those tickets, because THIS:
....will lead to THIS:
May the Force Be With You
A long time dream of Dad's was brought to fruition this week. Dad has eagerly awaited Kaelan coming of age to watch the original Star Wars Trilogy with him (or is it now called the final trilogy, or is it really 4, 5 and 6 in the series? So not a Star Wars nerd here....we'll check with the Jedi of our home about his later.)
After catching the tail end of one of these films recently on television, I realized they really were not that bad or violent and I agreed to let Kaelan watch them as long as dad fast forwarded through anything questionable. Seriously, I think Boomrang and Cartoon Network far exceed Star Wars in inappropriateness. I saw talking poop on CN while I waited in the dentist's office the other day. Ewoks and Star Troopers (or are they called Storm Troopers???) seem pretty harmless.
She had little indentions in her face for more than a day, because she refused to remove the mask.
Dad hopes to make this a yearly tradition, but I'm thinking it may lose it's magic come the 'tween years. I had someone at church tell me that Kaelan proudly spoke up about knowing some books from the Bible. The teacher was very amused to hear Kaelan list off the following:
Matthew
Mark
Luke Skywalker
John
Dad couldn't be more proud.
