Welcome to Miami!
Hear that song??? I think I heard it like 4 million times while we were there......
Great mini vacation to South Beach.....just the old man and I. Kaelan happily stayed home and devoured her Aunt Sara. The minute we returned home, she told us we could go ahead and leave for another vacation.....I guess it would be worse if she cried for us....right?
Doug testing the water.
Doug taking in the sea.
Sandra in her reading on the beach attire.
There were plenty of frozen drinks for Sandra.....and Diet Coke for Doug. We had a fabulous time on our GoCar tour. Basically, you head off down Ocean Dr. (and wherever else you want to go), in a little go-cart/moped type thing. There is a GPS built into the car, so you are guided the whole way. You can stop wherever you please and never get lost.....we looked so friggin' cool next to all the Lamborghini's and Porsche's in South Beach....fierce!
Doug's crew got the big prize.....later, we celebrated and drank Sprite out of it. :)
One evening, we had dinner at the most gorgeous turn of the century mansions. This place was fully restored and amazing......we are considering a purchase for a summer home....ha. I can't even fathom the price....it was valued at 22 million in 1914!
Doug gets in touch with nature in the garden.
Sandra soaks in the healing fountains. How could you strut up those stairs and not due the Paris Hilton pose?
Fin.

A Better Paradise
Sadly, one of Doug's crew died in a car accident this weekend. Very sad. You know how Rudy Giuliani attended nearly all the funerals of 9/11 firefighters and city workers? Very honorable....well, I'm married to that kind of guy. He can't see going and enjoying sunny beaches and deep tissue massages while a man he respected is being buried and eulogized. And that is why I am married to him.
So, my palm trees and fruity drinks can wait......a mighty fine man went to his own paradise this weekend. One that beats Florida beaches hands down. One I hope to visit someday, myself.
