Potpourri

I have a camera, and I am not afraid to use it.  And that is a problem.  Well, it is part of the problem.  Really, the real problem is that I have all these awesomely great pictures, but I do absolutely nothing with them.
In my next life, I am going to have  a huge room built with fancy storage for all the scrapbooking supplies and gadgets  a gal could dream of.  I will never have to clean it up and worry about little children coming in my special room and eating my expensive scrapbooking stickers or cutting their hair with my super cool decor scissors, because you see, my secret room will not be child accessible!  My special room will come equipped with a computer that just downloads my pictures through mindwaves.....I will just give a little Bewitched nose wiggle, and walla!   All the photos will be magically downloaded.
I will also have all the free time in the world to sit and blog and blog and blog about all the wonderful things that happen in my life!  I will blog until there is nothing about me that my readers will not know.  My favorite toilet paper?  You will know it.  The color of my dentist's eyes?   Memorized by heart.
It is going to be awesome!  Just you wait!
For now, here are some random photos I found and figured I better do something with before my kid finds the camera and "accidentally"  puts peanut butter in the battery compartment.

We recently took our annual trek downtown to the FUMP festival.   We love this festivity!  They have tons of arts and crafts for the kids, and the headliners are always really great bands.  This year they had another of Kaelan's favorites, "Trout Fishing in America".

After the show, we took our mandatory Capitol building shots.

Kaelan insisted we do our secret spy pose.  This is what the director came up with.

At the end of February, we celebrated dad's 25th birthday.  Okay, maybe not his 25th, but that is as how many candles came in the box, so we will go with 25.
For weeks and weeks, dad had whined that he did not get to go see the new Harry Potter flick.   Every single time someone started talking about the movie, his lip would go into the pout position and I would have to hear about how "No one took him to see the movie".   THAT'S BECAUSE THEY WERE BUSY DOING OTHER THINGS LIKE FINISHING GROWING A BABY AND GIVING BIRTH!
Did that sound bitter?
Anyhow, we decided to give him his Harry Potter fill, and surprise him with his favorite meal, Krystal burgers and a HP themed party.
Doug's cousins and aunt drove the 60 miles to Killeen and set up our HP party at a corner table in the Krystal.  You see, there are no Krystals anywhere in our area, so we made the long haul for our greasy fix.
After church, Kaelan blindfolded dad and we kept him that way for the whole drive to Killeen.  You should have seen his eyes when he opened them!  Classic!  Even better was the reaction to our HP fan club table.   The people in there thought we were cer-ti-fiable!   Doug was given his magic wand upon arrival which raised some eyebrows.  You will meet some strange folks in a Krystal Burger joint.  I think we made the top 10 craziest list that day!

Kaelan wrote this sweet message all by herself for her dad.

The title is potpourri folks.  Get ready for more randomness.

St. Patty's Day!  They are just too cute not to post these.
Don't you just love the way he looks at her?  He is so in love!

Lastly in today's edition of potpourri are some  photos I took of Kaelan a few weekends ago at Main Event.  She went there with some visiting family members and decided to conquer the rock wall with her 11 year old cousin, Alyssa.
The last time she attempted this feat, she made it up about 5 feet and declared, "DONE!".
Let's just say we got our money's worth this time.   And a free cardiac scare!
OY VEY!

Fear not!  I have enough pictures to fill 1,000 potpourri posts. I am sure there will be more in the future!
Until next time.....this will tide you over.
