Jog-a-Fun

DSC_2268

Recently, our gal participated in the BCS Annual Jog-a-Fun to help raise funds for the school.   As we all know, this girl likes to run, so spending the whole day out on the track in lieu of school work?  Right up her alley.

You know how kid’s will come around with those little pledge sheets when they are doing a fundraiser like this, and you can either make a flat donation or pledge a certain amount per lap/mile etc.?

Well, I nicely tried to hint to grandma that doing the flat donation might be a better idea, but Nooooooo, she went ahead and did $5 a lap, thinking Kaelan would probably only be able to run 8 or so laps.

21 laps later, grandma and paw-paw were dipping into the retirement fund.

I warned you….this gal likes to run!

Mama joined in and ran most of the laps with Kaelan, despite being cold and old and not wanting to move that morning.  It was fun, though.  There was a radio station there blasting music to motivate the kids, and Kaelan loved it.   Now anytime she hears that “Ya’ll Ready For This?” song, she blurts out, “That is MY song!”.

Despite running her tail off, she did not break the record for most laps.  Some other little Kindergarten boy ran 23 laps.

That little turd.

Did I type that out loud?

I mean, way to go, kid!   It’s all for a good cause.  NO competitive nature here!

The Boy spent the morning eating his way through 4lbs of Cheerios and Goldfish (which, by the way IS the record for most snacks consumed in one sitting), while we ran.

Later, he stole some kids ball and entertained all the kids sitting around eating snow cones.

Kaelan raised a lot of money and made us proud.

I raised 0 dollars, and I did not even get a snow cone.
